Week 17: Winding down...
July 19th, 2026
(Bit of a short one this week...not only are things starting to wind down, but last week’s blog already included the most interesting day of this week.)
I had two final presentations this week, one for Intro to AI and one for Making Effective Presentations. Both went very well, but the AI one was especially good because it was on zoom, and after we presented, we just pinned the professor on zoom and watched him instead of the presentations. Highly recommend.
On Friday, I went out to breakfast with Tiina to a cafe near her place that she wanted to try. I got a cookies and cream milkshake (with ice cream instead of whipped cream on top, which I think should be an option everywhere) and we split french toast and fluffy pancakes. Everything was really good, but the pancakes were a little eggy so she wants to take me to another cafe to try some different ones.
On Sunday, I went to the Tokyo Museum of Contemporary Art, which is actually only a 12 minute walk from me but I haven’t gone yet because I’ve been saving it for when I don’t wanna do outside things. It’s in the 90s now, so that time has definitely hit.
The exhibition they had was for Eric Carle, and it was really lovely. It was nice reading about him, but the standout was obviously the artwork. It didn’t blow me away at first, because it looked like they just had all of the pages from his books, but when I got up close I realized all of them were the original collages and you could see the texture of the different papers.
I absolutely love his books, and it was so cool to see originals. They also had some sketches and assorted non-book art pieces from him, which were also super cool. I ended up buying a couple of pins and postcards.
And that’s about it for this week! Not super eventful because I’ve had so much work to do, but that will be done soon. I have 2 final exams next week, and 2 final presentations the week after, and then I’ll be done!...That's crazy. Time has absolutely been flying.
Until then. Have a lovely day.
